Our Story
About This Publication
We are a small, independent team. No agency funding. No affiliation. Just honest answers to the questions every Thai student deserves before they commit three months and tens of thousands of baht to a program.
## How This Started
In 2019, two former Chulalongkorn University students — Krit and Narapon — returned from separate Work and Travel seasons deeply frustrated. Krit had paid THB 32,000 to an agency that placed him in a low-wage job with no overtime opportunities in a location with limited transport. Narapon had a near-identical experience with a different agency.
Neither had found a reliable, independent resource when they were researching agencies before departure. Review content was dominated by agency-paid promotional blogs or Facebook groups with unverifiable testimonials.
They decided to build the resource they wished had existed.
## The Team
**Krit Thongsuk** — Lead Reviewer & Founder. Completed J-1 Work and Travel in Stowe, Vermont (2018) and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina (2019). Previously worked as a program coordinator for a Bangkok-based agency for two years, giving him direct insight into agency operations, margins, and placement negotiations.
**Narapon Chaiyawat** — Editor & Case Study Lead. Commerce graduate from Thammasat University. W&T alumnus (Jackson Hole, Wyoming, 2019). Specializes in financial outcome analysis and student interview methodology.
**Pimchanok Lertsiri** — SEO & Content Researcher. Former exchange student (Edinburgh, 2021). Joined the team in 2022 to scale the editorial operation and expand our coverage of rural and specialty placements.
**Anan Wongsuwan** — Legal & Compliance Advisor (Contributor). Immigration law background. Reviews our content for visa accuracy and regulatory compliance. Does not review agencies directly.
## Our Methodology
We take accuracy seriously. Every agency review on this site follows a documented process:
1. **Student Interviews** — We aim to interview a minimum of 8 former participants per agency, across different program years and placement types.
2. **Mystery Enquiry** — A team member contacts the agency as a prospective student to assess their sales process and fee disclosure.
3. **Document Review** — We request and review program contracts, fee breakdowns, and DS-2019 processing timelines where possible.
4. **Agency Right of Response** — Before publishing, we send a summary of our findings to the agency. Their response is published alongside our review, unedited.
5. **Annual Update Cycle** — All ratings are reviewed annually. Programs change. Agencies evolve.
## What We Are Not
We are not a booking platform. We do not earn referral commissions. We do not rank agencies based on who pays us more. We have declined multiple agency partnership offers since 2021.
If you see a "Recommended Agency" badge on this site in the future, it means we have evaluated them independently and find them to consistently meet our quality threshold — not that they have paid for the designation.
## Contact & Corrections
If you are an agency that believes our review contains a factual error, or a student who would like to share your experience for a case study, please reach out via our [contact page](/contact).
We read every message and respond to all factual correction requests within 5 business days.
